May I have some, please? I tried to say it this morning without giggling and utterly failed. Such an awkward name, makes me imagine a very specialized BSDM club!
According to wikipedia, the first word is pronounced pao, similar to Portuguese word for bread (pão). But saying ‘pao shokola and a small latte‘ is not a solution either. Not with the general level of French in Sydney and not with my accent.
A cashier suggested I call it chocolate croissant, but… I dunno, that’s way too boring! Why pass such an opportunity for fun? From now on, I’m gonna order pain chocolate in the morning, do it with the straight face and observe people’s reactions. It’s my private anthropological research project!
After all, if they advertise pain chocolate, they should deliver it.
